An Explosive Promotion

Apparently, the L.A. Times and Paramount Pictures rigged several thousand newspaper boxes to play the Mission: Impossible III theme when the door was opened. However, at least one of the devices they used to do this fell onto the stack of papers inside. Since the device was a little box with wires sticking out, someone apparently thought "bomb" and called the police, who then blew up the news rack.

"'We weren't expecting anything like this,' said John O'Loughlin, the Times' senior vice president for planning."

A little box with wires sticking out of it playing the Mission: Impossible theme. No, that won't cause a panic at all.
